Peace in Guatemala
We recently traveled to Flores, Guatemala
and some other small villages in El Peten.
In years past Guatemala has suffered much violence, but
the Guatemalan Civil War ended with a Peace Accord in1996.
Our visit was peaceful and very pleasant.
We collected a few hints of peace which we share here.
This Guatemalan coin, the Quetzal commemorates a
Peace Firm and Durable, 29th of December 1996.

We studied in a library in the small village of San Andres, El Peten, Guatemala: Libraries for Peace from UNESCO

Little Mama dear: May God give you peace and life.

Mother Earth, Life of the Peoples, Migrants, Land and Peace
First Sunday of September, "National Day of the Migrant."
For the migrant the native land is the land that gives him bread.
Blessed Juan Bautista Scalabrini
"When a migrant establishes himself amongst you in your country, do not oppress him. He will be for you like one of your compatriots: you will love him as yourself, because you were immigrants in Egypt."
Leviticus 18, 33-34, on a Catholic Relief Service poster.
