The March 2007 exhibit attendees selected the

  2007 People's Choice Award Medal Winners

 for the

         East Side of Portland    and for the

                    West Side of Portland

                 

 East Side of Portland:

Less than 10 years old: Jenna Richards, To Live in Peace," painted glass in a window frame.

Age 10 to 13 years: Noelle Zuelke, "Peace On Earth," watercolor.

Age 14 to 18 years: Patch Hanchek, "Purr," watercolor ink.

Adult: Sr, Mary Bertoli SNJM, "The Promise of Peace," torn paper collage.

In the School category: Holy Redeemer Catholic School.

 West Side of Portland:

Under 10 years old: Cory Meyer,"Into The Woods," watercolor.

Age 10 to 13 years: St. Anthony 5th Grade Class," Friendship Around The World," ceramic and acrylic paint.

Age 14 to 18 years: Ally Grigar, "Peace Shines Through," photograph.

Adult: Bill Zuelke," Peace-ing It Together," fused art glass.

Artist’s Statement: Peggy Bird:  "Peace can rise from war if we persist; if we insist; if we reject the easy answer that violence is the answer and engage with our adversaries in the work of peace-making."
